The Doula Association of Edmonton is very excited to be hosting this hands-on workshop. Learn about the benefits of using a peanut ball during labour. With a focus on technique and positioning, you’ll get hands on instruction and practical guidance.

Heather is a Premier Birth Tools Authorized Peanut Ball Trainer, a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Instructor, and U.S. Navy veteran with over 20 years experience in instructional design and facilitating adult workshops and trainings.

Your Birth’s “Peanut Ball for Labor Advanced Doula Training” workshop has been approved by DONA International and is eligible for 3 contact hours!

In this workshop we will discuss:

  • The benefits of using a PB
  • Sizing the PB for laboring person
  • PB benefits of hospital, birth center and home births
  • Not just for medicated labours
  • Cleaning and storage
  • How to cover the PB for use and travel
  • Inflating your PB
  • Specific positions for difficult labor
  • Lots of hands on position practice to include the updated positions from Gail Tully of Spinning Babies

What to bring:

  • comfortable clothing
  • yoga matt

Heather will bring as many PB’s as she can so everyone can practice-however she is flying in from the US so please bring your ball if you have one! There will also be presentation on studies and laminated reference cards for the class. The cards will be available for purchase at $10 each.
